Summary of Position:
  • Responsible for planning, acquiring, maintaining and supporting the Company's computer hardware, computer software, data communications, remote network sites, and Central Office LAN.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Hardware:
    1) Evaluates needs and subsequently orders, configures, and installs new hardware for Central Office as well as on-site residential communities.

    2) Maintains detailed records of equipment, hardware and configurations.

    3) Plans and implements upgrades and maintenance of existing hardware as projected and approved.

  • Software:
    1) Provides customer centered support to all users on all software applications. Involves routine training as well as trouble shooting any software problems.  Fully utilizes Spiceworks ticketing and network software.

    2) Responsible for researching, recommending, and implementing new software.

    3) Maintains documentation and licensure records for all purchased software. Stays current on all software and ensures upgrades are obtained and properly installed.

  • Local Area Networks and Servers:
    1) Maintains Central Office LAN including: scheduling and performing backup, maintaining security and file structure, maintaining users and user profiles.

    2) Monitors performance and utilization of all servers ensuring efficient operation and data protection.

    3) Stays current on available network products, services and technology and makes recommendations to ensure network is efficient and reliable.

    4) Installs and supports networks at the various residential communities.

  • Other:
    1) Responsible for evaluating and maintaining interface between Central Office and residential communities. This includes hardware and software evaluation to ensure timely, reliable interface for data collection and distribution.

    2) Responsible for maintaining data communications between Central Office, residential communities and third parties.

    3) Assesses the need to utilize third party consulting services. If consultants are utilized, this position is responsible for establishing project objectives, monitoring the cost and managing the consultants.

    4) Responsible, as needed, for special projects.

Education and Prior Work Experience:
  • Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in business or information systems and 3 years of experience supporting hardware and software in a network environment.
Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
  • Modular office setting. Approximately 90% of this individual’s time will be spent on a personal computer. Physical labor will be required during computer installation, maintenance, and handling.

  • Position requires extensive knowledge of PC’s, networks, multi-function printers, peripherals and communication devices as well as the following software:
    1) Windows Server 2003 & 2008.

    2) Windows 7, XP, 8.1

    3) MS Office 2000-2013

    4) Yardi

    5) Spiceworks

    6) Internet - TCP/IP, http/s, FTP

    7) Active Directory and Exchange Server

    8) SQL, Access, and ACT!

    9) Barracuda Backup/Firewall

    10) Fortinet Router

Special Requirements:
  • Position requires a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and strong analytical skills. Must enjoy contributing to an interactive and positive team environment. Should have excellent customer service and communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with non-IT individuals. Position will require a flex schedule at times, including evenings and weekends, to address IT related installs, upgrades and maintenance.
